Government funding for Canadian business.

106 federal, provincial and territorial programs — grants, loans, tax credits, wage subsidies and equity. Filter by province, sector and funding type. Every link goes to the government’s own program page.

Two things worth knowing before you scroll. Provincial programs follow your payroll, not your incorporation. They attach to having a permanent establishment in the province and, usually, to wages paid to residents of it — so a federally incorporated company with staff in Toronto claims Ontario programs. And several investor tax credits require the company to be registered before it issues shares; close the round first and the credit is gone. Our guide to funding a Canadian startup sets out how these fit together.
General information, not advice, and not a guarantee of eligibility. Programs change, close and reopen constantly. Every entry was verified against the administering government’s own page in September 2026, and each link opens that page in a new tab — confirm the current terms there before you rely on anything here. Several programs listed as open run on intake windows. Nothing on this page creates a lawyer–client relationship. For how the funding options compare and what each really costs you, see how to fund a startup in Canada.
